How tall was William Wallace?
There seems to be some dispute. His sword, which is in the memorial in Scotland is 5′6″ and weighs 9 lbs. They say that he would have to be AT LEAST 6′6″ to wield it. What do you think?
It is a well known FACT that William Wallace was only 5″ 3″ tall and weighed approximately 120 lbs. He used optical illusion to make himself appear larger than actual.
For upcoming battles Wallace would assemble two armies, one of men and one of children. With opposing forces off in the distance, Wallace would ride his Shetland Pony back and forth in front of the children and “rally” them.
As the opposing army approached, the children would run down the back of the hill and hide while the army of men ran forward (while screaming wildly) to be seen by the opponent.
Wallace’s stunt double, Loopy O’Doul, a man-child of gargantuan proportions would take Wallace’s place by riding up the hill on a great steed while wearing makeup to hide his face.
Wallace’s fame as a great leader is obviously overrated.
