Am I using my heavy bag right?
These are some key points I maintain when I use my Heavy bag.
* Exhale on exertion (every punch)
* Fight like you train, train like you fight
* Circle the bag
* Don’t prefer one stance, be creative and versatile
* Treat the bag like a human
* Drive strikes “through” the bag
* Practice combos
* Wear MMA gloves and wraps
* Breath in through nose
* Stay on toes
* Strikes should be same speed, forth and back
* Make new combos
* Introduce as many martial arts to bag workout
Are these right?
Are there any more key factors I should be doing?
(The bag is over 150lbs and I’m 14years old, I weigh 50kg with a height of 170cm)
Ignore the poster that says don’t exhale through the mouth, that is actually correct, but it has to be done while you bite hard the mouthpiece to make sure your jaw is not loose.
The bag is NOT huge, actually that’s a standard heavy bag, it’s big for you though, as you are not fully developed.
DO NOT hit the bag with MMA gloves, they don’t provide enough padding to protect your hand and wrists, use at least 10 oz gloves.
good luck!
