How to bring down nitrate levels?
I have a 125 gallon fish tank. With a Bio-wheel 350 and 400. A top fin 60, and a walmart 20 gallon filter with 100 gphs. I have 1 oscar,1 largemouth bass, 7 sun fish, 1 walleye, 1 clown knife and 1 bullhead. they are all 5-7 inches big and the tank has been set up for 2 mouths and the nitrate levels are 15PPM and I have done 20% water changes every week and i just did 3 big ones this week. I have 4 bubblers going. I use aquarium salt, stress coat and stress zyme. What am i doing wrong. I pump 1000+ gallons and hour and is rated at 200+ gallons of filtration.
Nitrate levels can ONLY be decreased by water changes and or LOTS of live plants.
